This was my first ever typography class (and also my first at RISD)! The first assignment, titled Frankenfonts, was meant to warm up our brains for thinking about type in a new way. By completing this assignment, I was pushed to focus on each letterform and how the different forms could be combined to form a new one.

Truthfully, I had a difficult time during the first workshop working on Frankenfonts, but I really pushed myself over the weekend to create this set of letterforms!

On this page, you'll find eleven letterforms I ended up showing in class. By hovering over one of the figures, you'll be able to see what typefaces it was made up of. Pressing "Reveal Anatomy" shows you which part of the letterform came from which typeface, as the colors correspond with the flowers in the chart. You'll notice that some typefaces tend to dominate some letterforms.
